About the Artist

Hi, I’m Alyssa—the hands and heart behind Crafted in Clay and Chaos.

I’m a mom of two, currently on a career pause from my work as a research scientist to fully step into the beautifully chaotic season of raising my kids. Before clay took over my desk, I spent years as a research scientist with a background in electronic and materials engineering, earning four engineering degrees along the way. I’ve always loved understanding how things work—but these days, that curiosity exists alongside snack requests, toy explosions, and constant motion.

Polymer clay jewelry started as a hobby—something creative, calming, and just for me. Then I made a lot of earrings. Like, too many earrings. At some point my husband gently pointed out that I could never possibly wear them all and maybe—just maybe—I should start selling them. So in 2025, I did.

Now I create lightweight, handcrafted jewelry that blends intention, texture, and a little bit of chaos—because that’s real life, right? Each piece is handcrafted slowly and thoughtfully, shaped by both my research-driven brain and the real-life rhythm of kids underfoot. The pieces are crafted in clay and the chaos of motherhood—the noise, the mess, the unpredictability, and the joy of raising little humans while building something of my own.

Thanks for being here and supporting this season of creativity. 🤍
